Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Cream

(Right: American Version-Left: Asian Version)

Dr. Jart was the first brand of BB cream I tried. I first bought the "Asian" version of the BB cream at a beauty supply shop selling Asian cosmetics and goodies. I absolutely fell in love with this BB cream! It had a thick consistency but it was still easy to blend. The coverage was amazing for a BB cream. It gave me enough and I never used concealer with it. Slowly my tube of BB cream was coming down to its end. I was searching where else I could find this BB cream for a cheaper price.
And around this time Sephora stores starting selling Dr. Jart+ and this was when America was introduced to BB creams and American companies were starting to make them! I went on the Sephora website not too sure if the Black Label Detox was carried by Sephora, and luckily it was! Next week I went to Sephora and purchased the "American" version of this BB cream.

Now there are some differences with theses BB creams. The "American" version has a pump while the "Asian" version is a squeeze tube. I love both of these packaging. Now the texture of each is slightly different. The "Asian" version as a I said is thicker and I love it because of that! The "American" version is slightly more watery and not as a thick as the "Asian" version. Color wise of these products are slightly different as well. As you can tell the "American" version is slightly more yellow and the "Asian" one is more neutral toned. They both claim to do the same thing, but the "Asian" version makes it much more simple to understand while the "American" version goes into detail with what ingredients are in and what they do. (You'll understand if you go into a Sephora store and read the back of the bottle.)

Overall this is probably my favorite BB cream that I have ever tried! And the only downside with all these Asian BB creams are that they only come in one shade. Though I have learned that you can still wear it no matter what color you are, just make sure your setting powder is darker and matches your skin tone.

MAC Lipstick in Hue

This was my first lipstick from MAC. It is described as a "soft pale pink" I think this color is very unique. In natural lighting it looks like a light nude-ish pink color. While in flash photography it looks like a light pink color on your lips. This lipstick is a glaze finish. It does not feel drying on the lips and feels moisturizing. Overall it is a nice lipstick if you are looking for a nude that is not just nude but has a pink tone in it.

MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Medium Dark

(Sorry about the lighting...the sun was starting to set)

Now I've wanted one of these for the longest time! I wanted them when they were $28...and not $29. But I don't know what it was that every time I went to MAC I just never picked one up! So I went today and finally got one!

I went to the MAC store in Soho and was debating between medium plus or medium dark. The medium plus color looked more like a finishing powder while the medium dark was a finishing powder that would still give me a hint of color. Both colors blended beautifully with my skin...but I decided to go with medium dark because most of the times my foundations are too light for my skin. In order to give my skin some color and not look like a pale ghost I decided to go for medium dark!
I'm debating if the next time I go to MAC I should get medium plus as well...you know just to give me an extra option.

Essie's "Crocadilly"

The new Essie Repstyle collection has been in stores for quite some time now. I was walking by my local CVS and really wanted to pick one up but decided I will do it the next time I went. So I came home and checked some swatches online and found that I liked "Crocadilly" and "Repstyle" the most. So the next time I went to CVS I decided to buy it!

The first time I tried it I was a little confused. Did I just place the magnet on the nail or did I have to slide it like the magnetic polishes? After reading the instructions you just have to place the magnet and wait for five seconds. Now the thing with these magnets is that you can get too close to the polish and since the polish is still wet you can smudge it.

Overall these nail polishes are pretty good but they are a bit pricey...$12. The effect given is pretty cool and I got tons of compliments on them! If you have the chance and are wondering if you should give it a try. I would say go for it!

Revlon's Moondust in Supernova

Decided to buy this at CVS since it was on sale for less that five bucks. So, I thought why not? I must say the first shade or the color pair is opaque and dark. It was very easy to apply but the sparkly side was not how I wanted it to be. I wished the sparkles could cover my entire nail and look like what the display showed, but unfortunately it did not.
Nonetheless it's a good nail polish on the color side.

ELF Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky

Got a couple of ELF products yesterday. So expect a couple of posts on ELF blushes. This blush is my first ELF baked blush. Just like the color's name "peachy cheeky" it's literally a peachy pink blush. Really pretty and sheer, so if you are a heavy handed person you won't be piling a load of blush on your cheeks. Haven't tried this on my cheeks yet but it looks really nice and peachy on my hand.

Maybelline's Color Whisper in Go Nude

Maybelline has finally taken their take on the lipstick/lip balm trend. I must say I bought this on a whim not knowing if I will enjoy these or not. I'm glad I bought one! The texture reminds of the L'oreal Colour Riche Balms while the color payoff reminds me of the Revlon Lip Butters.

Obviously the color I would go for is the nude one in this collection. It is definitely a nice moisturizing lip balm with the perfect hint of color. This nude is perfect! Nude enough were it neutralizes my lips but doesn't wash me out. The swatch above looks like a clear gloss but trust me it is the perfect light wash of nude on my lips.
Definitely going back to get more colors from this collection!

Benefit's "Coralista"

This Benefit blush has got to be favorite from their boxed powders! I own a couple of their boxed powders and I must say this is the perfect blush color. It gives your cheeks a peachy pink with a glow! The perfect blush color for an everyday wear.
If you were to buy only one blush from Benefit I would definitely say Coralista.

Thai Tea

I love Thai Iced Tea! Probably one of my favorite drinks to have iced or hot. I remember buying the instant ones at Asian supermarkets in the past, but these last couple of years I could not find them anywhere! Finally I stopped by Soho at the Pearl River Mart and found the DeDe's Instant Thai Tea.
Made some the other day and added some whipped cream! Yum.
